Altogether Now – Multicultarism in Action

The Multicultural group of Oadby and Wigston with the help of STRIPES events management arranged a great alltogether event focused on bringing people together at the Central Avenue Christian Church, Central Avenue, Wigston. There were adults and children of all ages and backgrounds all here to enjoy a good interactive day of food, fun and networking.

TEAMS along with many other organisations like the Oadby Wigston Muslim Association, The Curve, Action for the Blind, Leicestershire Constabulary, Ansaar and many more were represented the diverse backgrounds in attendance.

The event was opened by Mike Griffiths, Mayor of Oadby and Wigston, followed by a warm up exercise session which was the first of many activities including laughter yoga, seated exercise, walks around historic Wigston and Zumba.

There was lots off food with TEAMS providing some tasty samosas for the day, we met some great people from the various organisations present and hope to work together with some of them soon.

Mid way in to the days excitement and a few samosas later I had my blood pressure, height and weight checked at the Well Now stand hosted by Liz Adams.

Hannah, Husnah, Hibah Sheikh and Aambar Mohamed were doing a great job feeding everyone with marshamallows dipped in a chocolate fountain along with face painting.

Overall the event was very sucessfull and hope next year it will be even bigger.
